Stacked EFI- advise/thoughts and poll.

I'm looking into stacked EFI company's & would appreciate any & all advise & opinions. I have a lone Star with a FE and will have to measure the height for hood clearance. Although, being electronic, I should be able to cut the stacks to fit and not hurt performance ?

Anyone with stacked EFI on a FE motor, please include details, cost & photo's. And why you bought the brand you have.

Very Cool Parts
MOMAR
TWM
Hilborn
and Dynatek Racing are some I'm looking at.

Cost is also a factor.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,

A similar topic was just discussed the other day...here is the link.

http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/fuel-injection-tuning/83524-efi-looks-like-webers.html

You can see pics of my TWM set up in my gallery. I researched all systems for a long time before going to with the TWM set up..it was more than just looks as I had to worry about altitude changes as well.

Kramer.

Give Bob a call. He was one of the pioneers of stack injection. Great guy.

I am a rep for TWM, drop me a line at thormotorsports1@msn.com I can give you some great prices and save you some money on a complete setup, including a ecu. I've had a setup on my 427 for a few years and love it.

COBRAMAN 484 01-16-2008 05:44 PM

Is Momar still in business . I tried looking at his website last week and it was not there. I tried again this morning and got a web site that says,

Note: Acme Technologies, Inc. has assumed the Momar inventory and is building and selling the products with the same attention to detail and professionalism as always.

I would second double ugly's recommendation about contacting Bob at Imagineinjection. I have his set up on my 428FE and am very happy with it.

Dick- Very nice set up. It looks fairly low, lower than the distributor and the radiator overflow? How tall is it from the bottom of the manifold to the top of the filters ?
I like the looks of the old school stacks than the billet but, yours is very nice. Please email me.

double ugly- thank you !

thorconstr- I'll email you for details & cost. Thanks Al

Kramer- thanks for the other post & nice injection.

Here is a picture of my VCP set up on my FE.

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...36CIMG0532.JPG

I'm using a Tec3r ecu running without a distributor. Took me a while to tune it since I'd never played with efi before but it's done and alot of fun.

Let me know if you have any questions.

FUNFER2 01-17-2008 07:55 PM

Dennis- great looking. Who is "VCP" and do you have their web-site ?
Thanks

Dennis Mosley 01-18-2008 11:04 AM

very cool parts.

Also consider the ECU options they have available. Some are more user friendly than others.

RodKnock 01-18-2008 12:21 PM

Is it beneficial to run without a distributor? Does it cost more or less? Is $10,000 "all in" (parts, labor, tuning, etc.) about right for these setups?

dynoroom 01-18-2008 02:43 PM

Here are a couple I've done using TWM throttle bodies. We're also a dealer for severial electronic systems. FAST, Accel DFI, AEM, & Motec to name a few.

I would say yes, around 8 to 10K. You need the intake manifold, throttle bodies, injectors, fuel system, ECU, sensors, harness, then dyno time and tunning.
But it sure look good.

Will most if not all systems adapt to the whatever FE setup that someone might have and will some or all of the setups fit under the hood? I have a Kirkham.

Very Cool Parts

I am having Very Cool Parts install the stack system in February. With an Electromotive TEC-GT electronic system, air cleaners, high capacity fuel pump, distributorless coil packs, installation, polishing and dyno tuning, there is very little change left from $10,000. Will report after all is done. Just to be clear...this is a turn-key installation. Did price TWM, for the same work, the guess was $10,000.

FUNFER2 01-18-2008 11:16 PM

Wow, 10k !
I had no idea. I was figuring apx. $6570. Without the dyno ect.
That's about what I have in my entire engine. %/

cobra crazee 01-19-2008 08:11 AM

It sure looks good under the hood, but the price is too high for me

fkemmerer 01-19-2008 08:59 AM

Keith Craft is a pretty good source for an EFI setup if you are doing an engine from scratch. I would recommend the TWM setup with a FAST computer. You might also look at FAST's new electronnic traction control option. I'm going to try this on my ERA. Also, FAST has just started offering a dual-sync distributor for the FE engines. This allows individual cyclinder correction of fuel and timing to get the best possible tune. Attached are a few pics of the engine the Keith Craft did for me. More pics of the engine and the rest of the project can be found in my gallery.

That engine is as cool as it gets!

FUNFER2 01-19-2008 11:46 AM

I agree !
How much was the distributor ?
That's the way to go but, it's even more $$$
