Default EFI/Header question

Hi guys

I have a Dax over the pond 415cu in Motown Chevy with Dax exhaust where the headers slide into the 4 branch of the side pipes. I have bungs already fitted in the collector area where the 4 merge into 1.

Has anybody had any issues with the sealing of the sidepipes in an EFI siuation or does the paste do a reasonable job.

Any advice would be appreciated as its an area I know little about.

The system I will be getting is TWM Throttle 50mm bodies with an Accel Thruster management system. Whats your opinion on this set up if anybody is running it. I have always had problems with my BG 850 annular discharge (crower 00427 cam) even though I have capability and have tuned the air bleeds etc etc not just the mixture screws.

Also can you use the MSD 6AL with this set up as I have one already fitted.

Thanks in anticipation.

(sort of smiling third day of sunshine this year - groan)

Mike

Hello Mikey,
Although I do not have experience with the Dax exhaust systems I do run injection with 02 sensors (dual in my case) located in the collectors. I experienced false 02 sensor readings. They were linear but were showing my mixture was much richer than it really was. My target display was 55 units to equal stoichiometric but I was seeing 68 units
I moved the 02 sensor closer to the head or placed it in a single rear header tube without any other changes and my display dropped from 68 to 56. The collector has cooler E. gasses so skewed readings but testing showed a predictable amount. Your system may not care but keep this in mind.

You will love the injection over a carb. It does need to be tweaked to your application but once dialed in nothing more needs to be done for instant hot or cold starts and a very snappy response. ENJOY !!!
PS... if not willing to learn every nuance of this system to do your own tweaking do not settle for less then perfect and take it to Tunner !!!!!
