Does anybody know where Roger got the door hinges for our cars from?

Roger forgot to give me the hinges when I got the body so I had to send him a letter asking for them (he wouldn't answer his phone). I won't lie to you, I was pretty direct with him in the letter.

Anyway, he sent them to me but one hinge had a lot of slop in it. So, I put a bushing in it, that worked but now it seems like that same hinge is sagging ever so slightly now. I'd like to replace it before it gets real bad. It'll probably be okay for awhile but I'm researching it now just in case I do have to replace it.

I was told by a guy that used to work for Roger that they were from a 70 or 80 something Ford pick-up. He said that Roger modified them a little though.

I'll keep researching & see what I can find, kind of like a treasure hunt sometimes!

A Ford PU, interesting. I'll take a look at one tomorrow to see. It would be good to know where to find these in case any of us have problems with ours.

Yes the hinges come from a Ford PU as I recall it was early 70s. I reshafted mine with a shoulder bolt. Had the same problem. I have some spare parts but they probaly will not help.

Thanks Don for confirming that. Like I said, the upper hinge on the drivers side seems to be sagging very slightly. I thought if I could get another hinge soon, then I'd have it should it get worse, which I think it will.

I'll keep you guys posted on what I come up with.

Glad you like the emblem, might change it from time to time just for a little variety!

I hope you are right Don! I'd like to know for future reference. Two of my hinges were not like the others, had to modify them to increase the offset from the pin hole to the door mounting plane. I was going to do the other two, just so the appearance would match, but decided they didn't look different enough for the trouble. By the way Don I think I met you at Hallet Raceway when I was picking up my car from Roger in June of 04'. You were there for the MidAmerica track event. I asked about you sway bar. I believe you modified a Camaro bar, welded on different ends, if I remember right!

Okay 04 was a while back but yes I remember that.
Camero modified sway bar with mustang ends. That's correct.
