Rear bumper mounting problems

I just started to try and figure out how the rear bumpers and bumperettes mount and it looks like I may have a couple of issues. The manual shows an open sq. Tube but the rear cross bar is there. I drilled the holes in the body and put holes in floor but the L bracket is too short for the holes to line up with bumper holes. Also the rackets aren't going to line up centered up on side frame rails they may hang to the outside of the frame. Anyone (everyone) else have these problems. And what did you do. Pics would help if you have them. Thanks, Don.

Don, I did what I think it best, and ignored the instructions, fabricated my own angle bracket from stock steel bar strap and made sure 1) It looked good on the outside of the car, 2) was structural direct to the frame. You could lift the rear of my car with the quick jacks. Anyhow, I would start by making sure it looks great, that's about all it should ever be used for, hopefully! Good Luck!

As Redeye stated make it look good from the outside to begin with. Have to admit I did fret over this and the bracketry that came with the car worked for me lucky I guess. Have to add not without quite a bit of fussing to make sure it all looked correct with grommets installed. Using 1/2" hardware I believe the car could be lifted if the quick jack pads were installed.

The best part is that the frame engineering is very heavy duty and simple. If one needs to weld a custom bracket to the frame to keep it looking proper on the outside of the car, this would be preferred to either using loose hardware or otherwise an incorrect fit.
