Joined the group a few months ago after buying an unfinished SB from an associate at work. It's been sitting in his barn for a few years. It's about 80% complete. Just needs the interior done and paint to make it road worthy. However, I'll probably redo a few other things before that. I'll post up some pictures when I haul it home - previous owner offered to let it stay in the barn for the winter.
A few questions; did SB stamp some kind of serial number on the frame? And if they did, where would I look for it?
Thanks,
Tony

Welcome Tony! I've been building a car and looked over the entire car and have never come across a serial or otherwise ID number/code on the car.

Welcome Tony, no numbers that I have ever heard on the frame. There is really no need for one.Once our car was registered picked up an original style aluminum body nameplate mounted it in the engine compartment with the new number stamped on it.

Thanks guys,
Lots more questions to come! Can't wait to start sorting it out. Been collecting the small parts over the winter; seats, carpet, wind wings, visors, wiper kit, etc.
Picked up a set of headers and side pipes from a FFR owner. Hope they wont be too much of a chore to make fit.
More to come!

Tony: welcome! I had a set of FFR headers &sidepipes at one time, but they didn't work out: would have to move the motor too much.
You can find plenty of info here. You are lucky, if yours is 80%done.

52 chevy, I do have the SB headers and side pipes but they just are not right. They are cheaply made compared to the FFR stuff and the collector is inside the body. If all else fails I can resort to them for a short time.

tony laboy. Sell all headers and sidepipes you have and buy new ones from Shell Valley. Fit great and sound awsome!! No mods done other than cutting the headers to length. Good luck and keep asking questions!!!

nota bene, I did not cut the headers for my 331 engine.

When I picked mine up in Miami it had a paper tag on the frame with the serial number and it was also written on the crate. Also with all the paper work they gave me I got an engraved plate from them with that same serial number on it. Other than that it's not stamped on the frame anywhere.

Oh well, thought I'd be able to sort out when mine was built. The previous owner has no idea of even how long it's been in his barn. So no chance he has any of that info. Thanks for the responses.
