Has anyone tried running e85 with their Street Beast? I am interested in knowing if anyone has had issues with aluminum fuel tank that comes with our kit.

Also, aside from e85, has anyone modified their fuel tank to accept an intake fuel pump that allowed for a larger fitting for fuel line?

No E85 for me, curious, why the larger fuel line? You plan on running nitrous? I did with a -6 line and Holley high volume fuel pump. I never put in larger than 100HP jets as a -6 will not carry enough fuel and hence lean out the engine.

So far have had no problems but have not looked inside tank. When building car changed the fuel lines to 3/8" and added a drain plug 23 yrs ago. This year will change all the rubber fuel lines.

What I am reading, people are saying you should run -10AN line. Not sure if this is set in stone. I need to find others that can verify. I started to go mechanical pump and 3/8 line. But now thinking e85. I suppose I could cap off the current 2 lines on tank and use AN fitting for larger line. I don't know... Decisions decisions. It would be nice if I could figure up a drop in hanger assembly that has the larger AN fittings. Just would need to enlarge opening.

For sure not set in stone, I have an external fuel pump a Carter 4600 which is so quiet it can't be heard. It doesn't require a regulator like my Holley pump did and delivers a constant 8 psi and 100 GPH with a 3/8" braided line, which is more than enough for an 850 Double pumper. I assume you don't have any fuel requirements larger than a carburetor of this size? If you are running a dual carb or nitrous you'll need a larger line or if the future is unknown then install a -10 Be sure to put in a good inline filter. I have a large bowl type Fram pictured on the left side of the frame and another inline of the carburetor rail itself. I like the idea of the drain plug if you have an extended period of layup for your car you could drain the fuel. In Arizona there is just a couple of months where it's too hot to drive so not a concern with bad fuel.

Does your tank look like this? This photo is prior to the Carter pump. Pictured is a Holley and after many people saying what is that noise? I changed it. Way too loud but you can clearly see the 3/8" line is feeding a 460 Crate with a published 535HP and 850 DP. I've never had a problem in the fuel department. One of the 2 lines is a vent so absolutely do not cap both

3/8" is all you need My 460 is also in the 530hp range it has never leaned out running a regulated 6.5 lbs with 120gph pump

Thanks for your thoughts. I am not sure which direction I am going to go. I have two engines. 1 is rebuilt with flat top pistons and valve reliefs. The other is original from 1969. On the new engine, the compression will be rather high. So my thoughts were to go E85. however, after doing some research, between the extra cost of e85 compliant parts and the lack of e85 pump stations in my area, I think I am forced to go pump gas. This means that I will either need to swap out the heads in the new motor to something more forgiving or rebuild my dad's engine that he left me and sell this rebuilt motor. I have a set of D0VE's for the rebuilt and my dads engine are C9VE's. I already have 3/8 aluminum line connected to the tank and ran to motor. When I bought this new engine, the guy gave me a lot of extra stuff for $300. I got a mechanical pump and a 750 Holley carb.

Staying with something that's user friendly is the way to go. My engine is a 9:5 to 1, it runs hard can get fuel anywhere. I also have a spare engine was always going to build a stroker 520+ cubes turns out the 460 is plenty of engine in these light hot rods.
