Pretty sure you're not going to loosen bolts and move the body over. The inner tub is bolted to the frame from at the steering wheel/dash support 4 ea, and then just in front of the rear fenders there are the door striker supports that are also bolted to the frame, 2ea per side. Seats are also bolted to the frame. The body is glassed to the inner tub/front fender wells.
I damaged my rear fenders when I first mashed the gas, the car squatted and did significant damage. I tried stiffer rear springs but they didn't let it squat at all so no weight transfer and the tires would just boil off. I put the original coils back in and installed a set of Monroe air shocks and my problem was instantly fixed. Still squats but not so far and the car hooks real hard.
Your body is probably located correctly, just different from one fender to the other. My manual is very specific as to where to locate the inner tub. My car was finished in 2004. Older manuals may not have had this info
