I got the IDIDIT in today. Its a 30" model. Not sure who all has bought one of these but it appears to be shorter than it ought to be. Either that or the steering support frame is off.

Ziggy I can't imagine the need to ever lift the body off the frame, I guess if you crack it up in a fender bender or something. Myself I would cut each leg of the support about half way up, install the upper half and have someone hold it in place, install the lower half and get your weld on. Back in business. I would almost guarantee, you will never need to take the body off, nor ever remove that steering support. Your column bracket is lowering that column only about a half inch so that's no big deal. The column in these cars sits low enough and as mdross states even with the seats mounted directly to the floor, the car is difficult to get in because of the column. Lowering it any amount to get a better view of a gauge may make ingress and egress a little ugly. As far as your IDIDIT column, as long as it fits through the firewall buy a universal and a piece of steel shaft, it will work fine. Nice column for sure.
