Hey guys,
When placing the body onto your street beast frame and inner fiberglass cockpit 'tub' did you resin and glass the top of the tub (horizontal flat surface near steel dash bridge) to the bottom side of the tub.
The option would be to do nothing or to add a rubber damper between these surfaces.
What I'm struggling with is trying to decide if I want a body which is permanently mounted or one which can be removed from time to time in the future.
Thanks for the input and feedback!

Bonded ours only thing we did different from manual suggestion was drill and tap all body to frame mounts.Course it is your car have fun.
Can't help but wonder having that connection no bonded will it move around or cause problems elsewhere.

I think it may cause problems... my current problem is that the tube seam does not match well the inside of the body... so I'm just pondering how much trouble to go through to make this a structural connection (meaning not just lap some resin on it and let whatever happen may, but actually make sure it's rock solid. Might try to fit the hood first and see how that goes.

We went the removable body route - This really saved me when I wrecked the car and had to do some pretty major repairs. When we put it back together we used rubber between several areas. While it does not sound pretty a piece of split hose was used in a few areas. Not noticable and only Guys like us would ever even look!!

We decided to make a one piece body and completely integrate the tub to the body. He is a pic of the the steering column foot well and seam between firewall and body.

I remember test fitting ours and it was very good all the way around. My only concern was how to pull the sides tight without forcing the center of the body up off the tub.Once it was bonded I used more fiber cloth to make certain the joint was permanent.
The big thing is the body sitting on the frame with no stress thus the shims

hey guys, thanks for the feedback and especially the photo! Ideally I would design the setup similar to a factory five where you can pull the body with a number of bolts and pins. (or at least so I hear, never seen this myself). This would be ideal for painting and possible maintenance/repairs. The tub is sufficiently wide that you nearly need to cut the sides off the bottom body shell to get it on without bending it all about (at least mine is)... so my only concern was that if I paint it and then install it, it may crack or stress the paints. I'll try to get some photos this week. Thanks again for your feedback.
