Hey All! My trouble is simple and I hate asking these types of questions. But, here goes anyway. Is there a hack or trick to removing the drive shaft? Seems to not be enough room to simply unbolt it from the diff and slide it out. I have a 1993 built FIA 289 car and I'm trying to remove the Top-loader 4-speed from the bell housing to replace the clutch. I've got the Jaguar IRS in the way of getting the drive shaft to slide out.
My end goal is to replace the clutch. Step 1 and 2 seems to be get the tranny and drive shaft out of the way. But, its all crammed up in there pretty tight. Thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. The frame of the car is the main thing getting in the way of simply pulling the drive shaft out. It won't fall down, only has space to go up a little and then it runs into the diff.
