Thanks, I had got 10 LB struts which I'm using here. I thought they would not hold up the lid, but 2 x10's hold up the lid OK. The bracket in the photo puts the pressure to hold the lid down and back. There is small resistance, but it holds the flexible fiberglass lid down around the weather-strip on the body. I knew that using a gas strut with the small brackets would actually push the ouside of the lid up away from the weather-strip. You can also see that the lid is wide open using this combination. 10 LB struts keep a lot of pressure off the brackets mounted in the lid gutter track. The gas tank is aluminum custom to fit on the shelf and go down along the inside trunk. It holds ~21 gallons of fuel. If your interested I can get you my drawing. The price was about half what I would pay for race tank fab. It's baffled for side to side fuel slosh and the filler is baffled to prevent fuel rising in the filler neck. It's pressure tested, and epoxy coated.
