So, I have been looking at cobra's for years. Lost way too much in the market back in 07/08 so I stopped looking for a while. Started again and I found WCC, then reading of course Kellison.
After looking at basically every other kit/cobra company out there I feel the need to get the one that appears scarce and hard to find. I have PM with Painter and he said he can supply me a new car/kit. And I don't mind that option at all. I am just going to do my due diligence and make sure I can't find a better deal all ready drivable or pre-owned before I order one as he is on vacation till April if I recall correctly.

I have read about 40-50% of the posts in the WCC Owners Group section and yes I still want one. I have seen a couple of older used ones for sale, but I have either been too late or in the case of one, it has a blower on a 460 and I am not sure I want to go that far, of course they also want 48k for it.
Any purchase advice or things to look for or even pointing me in the direction of a good used one would be wonderful. And if I don't find anything thoughts on ordering a new kit?

Welcome Joey
My 1988 built WC is going to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale show room in April. I've had it since 2006 and am the second owner. Be glad to send you complete info if your interested. Bob

These are unique and different cars. Once you get the bug you don't look back. For me, the look of the oversized rear end and the stance was the reason I like the car. It is one of the few makes that a 6'2" person can drive.

Both my boys are taller 6'1" and 6'2" I am only 5'10" but I really like the looks of the WCC I just seem to like things that are different. I have a 1946 Dodge 4 door and a 1951 Ford F2 Flatbed. I drive them both as often as the weather will allow. When I wanted a new car I ended up with a Jaguar XF, because I didn't want the same car everyone else drove. So the WCC fits that very well. It isn't like every Cobra on the road.

Joey,
Painter does a nice car if you go new. You need to really think about how you will drive it and match that with your go fast parts under the hood. You have lots of choices.
Also, you need to think about getting the car delivered from painter, have the discussion and understand it completely. Vern did it his way, but painter may operate differently so ask those questions up front.
A well sorted out pre-owned WCC is a good way to go as most of the upgrades and gremlins associated with Cobra's are taken car of. I love mine, would no go a different direction if I had to do it over.

Well I went and looked at a used WCC today. Even got to drive it. Very impressed with what I could see (it was 40 degrees out). I liked how I fit in the car and how it drove. It needs a couple of things, but what used car doesn't. The one I drove was an Automatic which really wasn't what I was looking for, but it drove so well; I may have to reconsider the 5/6 speed I was thinking. And for the price I couldn't buy new and paint it for the price of the used one. I could repaint and still save money. I may consider used at this point. I can always buy the Hard top as an Add on if I wanted.

Can Painter provide hard or soft tops? I have neither and, while I'm more interested in a soft top in the short term, longer term I may look at a hard top as well.
