Default GT40 shifter

Hello, I am new to this forum, my name is al. I own/operate a small classic mustang dealer in miami,fl. I have a freind/client that has brought me a GT40 that was built by GT40 North America, which I have found, is no longer in operation. My question is, my friend is looking to have a shorter throw in the shifts ( which is very sloppy ) and I am having trouble finding anything that will work, and to be honest im having more trouble trying to figure out what type of transmission the car has. Any help would be appreciated and I look forward to helping any of you in any way I can.

GT40s.com is a great source indeed!

Post a pic or two of the transaxle. My CAV has a cable shifter, works great, tight and short.
