" Ford GT Enters the Record Books with 283 MPH Standing-mile Pass
Standing-mile acceleration competitions have become extremely popular and the Ford GT is one of the most sought-after standing-mile rockets. Everyone knows the Ford GT is fast, but we didn't think we'd ever see one this fast! At a recent event at the Kennedy Space Center, Johnny Bohmer drove his 1,700-horsepower 2006 Ford GT to a speed of 283.232 MPH in the standing mile, and in the process, into the record books!
