Default Best of Show @ Amelia Island Concurs

" Best of Show Concours de Sport was awarded to the 1968 Ford GT40 owned by the Rocky Mountain Auto Collection. Chassis P/1075 tallied up six wins in only eleven races for the Gulf Oil / J.W. Automotive Engineering team, topped by victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in both 1968 and 1969. Notable drivers of the Mirage-style GT40 included Pedro Rodriguez, Lucien Bianchi, David Hobbs, Brian Redman, Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver, among others. Chassis 1075 was later displayed at the Indianapolis Speedway Museum to commemorate its racing records, before being returned to private ownership in 1984. "

I saw that on another forum and am quite sad that I missed the event considering it's only about an hour from where I live. I'd have loved to ogle that beautiful car in person.

Go to page 12 of the PDF file. The winner of Best In Class - Race Cars (1965-1975) is Heather Mills, showing her late husband's 427SC

A beautiful car, precisely assembled. Unfortunately I don't fit. Sold it after four hundred miles. Well, at least now I know a Cobra is not a car I can own.
