John, guess you didn't notice on the email that they asked you not to post this on the forums yet.

Hurricane wanted to give current/past owners first pass at purchasing new kits before they go public with the announcement on Monday.

So much for the public announcement on monday.

Matt,

I got the same e-mail as jshel1. All it said was "Hurricane is now accepting pre-orders.

888-99-THRILL".

There's a Hurricane email list ? I really doubt if they will over sell between
now and Monday though. I hope the new company gets active on Club Cobra
too, (advertising and a spokesperson).

Current owners...not sure how many people are going to want two. Past owners...I can see that.

I've got no skin in the game, but sent the contact at Hurricane (can't remember his name) an email with some ideas/feedback a couple of weeks ago, but haven't heard a word. In this day and age EVERYONE should at least respond to an email with a "thanks for your feedback, we appreciate your input." Takes about a second.

Default Build Thread

If they want to whoop up interest, they should have a detailed build thread on here. Post every couple of days with plenty of detailed pics, explanations on why they're doing stuff, etc. Take questions, then respond. That would sell more cars than a mass-emailing ever would.

Agree 100%. I told them to get involved here. ERA, Kirkham, and Backdraft are very active here and I think they benefit by being part of the community. SPF...well some dealers pop in from time to time, but not much more than that.

There was guy selling CSX cars in the Central Valley that would pop up here from time to time. If I was selling any brand, I would LIVE on CC. I don't get it, but that's just me.

Most hobby boards are too diffuse or represent too small a cross-section of the relevant community for manufacturers to bother with - although those that do assign a rep to a larger board often reap rewards.

CC is different. I think some very large percentage of the Cobra community is at least loosely connected here. I can't see how any manufacturer could justify not establishing a strong presence here, even if it came to paying someone to perform the liaison job (in lieu of principals who knew their way around a browser as well as they do around a 'glass mold). As a community nexus, I can't think of many equivalents in any hobby or avocation field.

And I will bet you a bottle of Brad Penn that there will soon be a very nice Hurricane build thread on this forum.
