Default Hurricane tour 1-25-12

Hello Club Cobra!

My first post on this great informative forum. Long desire to be a Cobra replica builder/owner. Decided it was time to start the serious research process of finding the Cobra replica manufacturer that I will build.

First stop - Hurricane Motorsports!

I had the great opportunity to tour Hurricane Motorsports in Lake City, Iowa

Monty & Steve, two wonderful people took a lot of time to show me the manufacturing facility and the build process of producing their car.
I'm very impressed with the look and accuracy of the build and found it to be a high quality kit.
A special shout out to Monty that braved the cold Iowa weather and got the car out so I could take it for a drive. It brings a smile to my face thinking of the FUN drive!

This is the first stop of several manufactures that I plan to visit....but I must say the Hurricane kit is high on my list!

I will attach multiple pics that I took during my visit.

Best of luck on your search, you will know which replica is the one for you when you see it. If an accurate and authentic build is what your looking for..Hurricane is right on, along with the kits new componant package of all new parts.
Good hunting, Bill

I know Dean Lampe had a lot of input with Mike and Steve over the last few years getting the Hurricane as close to original as possible. IMO the Hurricane Cobra is absolutely one of the best manufacturers in our hobby. I don't believe you could go wrong buying a Hurricane.

I would suggest you also check out Backdraft and a few others depending on what you want. Keep the pictures coming.

Don't wait too long to make a decision because driving time is VERY close.

The one that was being preped to go out the door is mine we picked it up 1-27 bet you had better weather.

We had researched for years even visiting Hurricane when they were still in Lee's Summit MO. Others were Backdraft, Shell Valley, West Coast, B&B, Unique, RU, just to name a few. Have not started the build yet but very happy with what we got and quality of the body/frame. PM me if you have specific questions.

I researched every kit manufacturer for the past 15 years. There was always something I didn't like about each one until I saw the Hurricane. By far, the best kit on the market.

Congrats on choosing a Hurricane . I couldn't be happier with my build along with the support from the manufacturer and the owners through the owners forum. The new owners of Hurricane have really cranked it up another notch in terms of originality and quality.
Please post on thw HM forum as well.
Matt
