Default Visit to Hurricane was nice

Hi,
I went to Hurricane's facility and had a wonderful time . Mike and
Jason answered all my questions and really gave me a realistic veiw of
just what I will be getting in a car from them. I decided to buy a turn
key minus ,set up for a small block with a nine inch rear . The IRS they
have is very impressive but I want to put some slicks on and go drag
racing . I asked questions up ,down and sideways and decided this car
was the best deal for the money for ME :-). Jason gave me a ride in his
FE powered car and man does that thing have some WOW factor ! I
almost decided not to put a small block stroker after that ride . I actually
had a sore neck the next morning ! ........DOH! ! ..."Class can we say
TRACTION ?" .....lol......So here is what I am getting : 427 turn key minus,
nine inch 3.70 posi, silver ceramic side pipes , one roll bar with the sockets
welded in for a passenger side ,full bumpers ,heater & defrost , wipers ,
tunnel set up for SBF, Trans mount for TKO 600, std brake package, painted
Viper blue with Wimbledon white stripes, 15" Halibrands with lugs . I could
have got the IRS and other options but this is the way I wanted the car
built for ME . I have been lurkind and reading here for a couple of years
and went to the Shelby meet in Tulsa twice and this is the car I decided
on . I looked into Unique ,ERA ,B&B,FFR, Shell Valley and afew others and
liked them too . B&B IMO has the best body for the money . The Hurricane
has more modern features that I liked .So guys , As soon as that piece of
paper from Wall Street gets here a check is in the mail . I appreciate all
the guys on this forum who wrote me back and gave words of encouragement
about their particular cars and companies and just like women , I wanted
them ALL ! :-)..........Well almost ! lol.........I can't wait to get someone to
airbrush me a snake under the hood ,caption reading : Caution ! This fake snake will bite your ass !".........
Mike

I would leave off the heater. I doubt if you will ever use it. Opt for heated seats if necessary. Other than that Hurricane is a good company and will build you a fine Cobra.

Mike, my only suggestion would be to opt for the aluminum firewall package. Adds significantly to the appearance and has heat/sound insulation benefits as well.
Good luck and good choice.
Matt

Mike, Your doing the right thing..that is, buying a Hurricane, you won't be disappointed in anyway.
Just a comment from me, I was in LA this past weekend and visited a local car show at Bob's Drive In. I parked my Hurriane next to a "real Shelby" with an aluminum body and a 427 side oiler. The guy had all kinds of old racing information about the cars history and was very nice. He stated that his Shelby was valued at 1.5 million if he got it re-carpeted....big woop!
Anyway it was nice to look over a Shelby and compare it to my Hurricane.
The Hurricane body is exactly the same as the Shelby, I couldn't really see any differences other than his was aluminum. Even the engine compartment was very close including the firewall and suspension. The only major difference was the tube frame and heavy duty shocks..or they looked larger than mine but I'm not sure.
There were a couple of factory five cars there also, they looked very good but didn't look anything like a real Shelby Cobra and didn't get a lot of attention, anyway thats my two cents .

I think you will be very happy with the Hurricane and the service from the boys at Hurricane Motorsports. Best wishes , Bill

SORRY! NO PICTURES I forgot my camera, but it is true the two cars were very much alike. I'm going to make it one of my Cobra goals, that is taking a picture of a "real Shelby cobra" and a " real Hurricane cobra"...next to each other.
