I certainly hope they are selling and not just closing the doors! I love my car and those guys (and gal) were great to deal with. It just strikes me as an unusual business strategy to stop taking orders, essentially shutting down and try to sell the business.
How many times have you seen a restaurant close with a sign "closed for renovations" ever open again?

I think that if there are not any prospective buyers right away and you are going bankrupt, then it may be good business to stop taking orders. In the chance that no one does buy it, then you do not have any customers who have paid a deposit (or more) and now are out of their money and no product. Just a thought, but I would be angry at them for not saying anything and I lost my money. I can respect the decision to not sell any more to ensure that they do not have customers that are out of money. If at a later time they decide to get back into the business, then they do not have that hanging over their heads.

I HAD made a deposit(only $2500 of my initial 50%). My deposit was made back on Aug 16th, and the deal was $2500 to lock in the price because they were expecting an increase. Mike told me the $2500 was fine until April when I would pay the balance of my 50% and the car would be built and ready for delivery the first week in June. On January 7th I requested it back due to family reasons, I wouldn't be able to build my cobra right now. Mike told me it shouldn't be a problem since my car was not due to be completed until early June. It is now March 18th and I'm still waiting.... But I talked to Tamara on the 10th (and emailed Mike) and she said it should be in the mail within 2 weeks, that they had some other things to deal with first. I really hope the guys at hurricane come through for me. I have been very patient about this. I am remaining positive that Rich, Mike, and Tamara will follow through on their word. But I have to be honest, all this talk is starting to make me worry!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that I had read that they were completing orders already made, but not accepting new orders. That is what I made that post in reference to. I hope you do get it back as well. I think it would be in their best interest to refund you in the long run.

After the past couple of years of research the Hurricane kit was high on my list. I was really looking forward to doing one of their kits. For me it seemed like the best value for the dollar. I hope they can regroup and come back better than ever and not fade into the sunset I wish them all the best. I guess time will tell. However, with all the advances with other manufactures I might have to revisit some of the others from my original list which consisted of Hurricane, Shell Valley / Midstates and Unique. Now you have FFR putting together a complete non-donor kit with all new parts, hmmmm eliminate the “perky butt” possibly. Now if they continue to utilize Dick Smith’s digitized famous #198 car for the avid owner I might have to reconsider them. There is no way I can swing one of the #198 commemorative models. After Contacting Dana at Shell Valley about the merger of Shell Valley and Midstates and learning about the updates and changes they made, there is another possibility from my original list. For now I’ll keep researching and trying to attend the London Shows. Who knows- some one has to win the raffle car.
