here is an interesting link to solve a common problem.
I have yet to try it but the writer claims it works.

I just replaced my MSD box recently and still have the old one, was going to send it back for a repair to have a back-up. Maybe I will take the old one apart in the off-season and see if I can repair it myself. Thanks.

I've been left stranded twice by 6AL boxes over the years, but the boxes never went completely dead as if it was an internal fuse failure. Both failures began with random intermittent stalling, then finally dead on the side of the road. Both times were with about 25,000 miles on the box, and both times the vehicle restarted at home after the tow.

Finally changed a working 6AL to a Crane box just recently. Hopefully no more issues!

But if you have a dead 6AL this is certainly worth checking out!

Here is the link to the replacement internal fuse for the 6AL (it looks like a diode..)

And it was good to see you at WGI last weekend! By the way, if that was the Holley carb, we can work something out - I don't need it. If it was the Demon carb, you can use it as long as you want, but I will need it back when you are done.
