Default How to Install 48 IDF WEBER Carburetors onto a Tunnel Ram Manifold: Step 1

Photo #1 shows a Wieand tunnel ram intake manifold, which has been machined to accept the spacing of 48 IDF WEBER carburetors. Once the manifold has been cut and machined, flat dimensions must be held to eliminate warpage.

Default Step 2

Photo #2 shows a reinforcing plate, which has been welded to the manifold. A closer look will show you that the 8 threaded holes have been installed for the mounting of a ½ inch thick mounting plate.

Default Step 3

Photo #3 shows the machined mounting plate installed into the machined manifold. You can see that the 8 mounting holes used countersunk screws for holding the plate onto the intake manifold. You can also see that we have machined clearances for the accelerator pump adjusting screws.

Default Setp 4

Photo #4 is the completed assembled system. You can see how neatly it has been constructed. Using the short 1 ½ inch tall stacks, it will clear the hood scoop of any Cobra. The linkage is actuated by a center bellcrank and operates very smoothly.

Inglese Induction Systems can build this and many other types of systems for you! Contact Dan Miller at 203-265-3617 or e-mail him at iisystems@aol.com

I do have a question for you. I notice there are heat dispensing spacers under the carbs. Do you sell them? How thick are they? How much are they?

Thanks
Brent

Default Couple more Qs

Nice looking result. So the top plate is just mechanically fastened with gasket or sealant? Correct?

How do these modified TRam intakes actually perform? Are there any unusal reversion induced problems associated with mismatch between the cross section of the runner and carb opening at the interface with top plate?

Thanks,
Kelly

You realize, of course, that this thread is 5 years old. Inglese is now owned by Comp Cams. And I havn't seen anything like this in their catalog.
