That is impressive. What also is interesting is the differences between my engine and yours, as they are very similar in design, except for the heads and intake. My engine had 10.5 CR, yours, 11.0, My displacement about 429 ci, yours about 428 , slightly different bore/stroke. Cam is about the same, yours a little wilder, but not by much. I'm running Dove aluminum Hi-Riser heads, original single four intake, with original 780 holley vacuum carb, as I was trying to emulate an "original" competition light weight engine that possibly could have ordered when the 427 cobra came out in 1965.

What surprises me is the torque curve differences between our engines. I can't find my chassis dyno sheets at the moment, but I know I got max rwtorque 488 @3800 rpm's, which should be about 610 at the flywheel and rwHp was 454@5900 rpms and still climbing, which is about 570 at the flywheel, when he stopped the test. Your max torque didn't occur until 5400 rpm's, with max power @ 6500 rpm's.

I don't think the cam difference had that much of an impact, nor the bore/stroke relationship. My guess is that heads / intake combination were the major factors impacting engine performance.

I had no idea how my combination of parts would work out until Eric dyno'd it. I figured it is what it is, with again really only trying to emulate an original competion 427 light weight engine.
