Default Engine Decision

Keith,

Do you have either an aluminum pond or shelby block in 428 FE or are they only available in 427 FE?

I talked to Tony at your shop yesterday and he said only the 427s are available in aluminum from both shelby and pond, but I remember someone here posting that they had a KC 428 FE all aluminum motor.

I'm just trying to pin down what my motor will be. (already decided that you will build it for me) I Want either a 427 or 428 FE with approx 600 to 650 HP and TQ. It will go in a street rod that will see occasional runs down the quarter.

Good decision on choosing a Keith Craft motor. He builds super quality engines, balanced and blue printed (you get more HP for your dollar) and he stands behine his work.

If it's for the street, go with a dual plane manifold. It will have more HP between 2,000 RPM and 4,500 rpm, and a little less at 6,000.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Going to order my Hurricane tomorrow. I would like to know what you offer to tell the builder.

Default Blocks and engines

We have the Pond and Shelby block in stock ready to go. We have about any part you would need for a complete aluminum FE engine in stock. I might be able to get the blocks in the smaller 428 bore but I do not know how long it would take. I feel the 4.250 bore makes for a better combination on these engines. The larger bore un-shrouds the valves and lets the heads flow better. Just give us a call about your needs and we would be happy to get you a custom quote together for you. Thanks, Keith Craft
