Logically, one would think it would be the Daytona Coupe or a production version of the Billet Cobra. I was at the open house two years ago and they were selling he heck out of the aluminum Daytona Coupe, taking deposits, etc. I would love to have one of these cars! With so much time invested in the Billet Cobra, I would think this would also be a possibility. I confused with the focus at Kirkham. One thing for sure, the Kirkhams seem to have a lot of fun running their business! I guess we’ll all be surprised together!

Actually no Daytona Coupe deposits taken, although some sure tried...

Hint: It is not an airplane, or anything connected to CS.

Brookville makes a beautiful steel 32 roadster and coupe, but no one (to my knowledge) is making a steel 32 5-window coupe. Aluminum would also work.

Chopped about 2.5" to 3"...that's my next project (still dreaming).

Tom. Thanks for clarifying the deposits on the Daytona. I figured you were out there reading this thread. Looking beyond the next car that were all waiting to hear about at the next Open House, maybe you can share a little your ultimate dream car. I assume the Cobra was one of those dreams now a reality. What else is out there for the Kirkham Bros?

Jim,

Wow, my ultimate dream car.

1. The car must demand respect. It has to have the ability to immediately clear my head of any other thoughts, other than the task at hand.

2. The car should maximize driver involvement. When the car starts you should feel the car come alive, and that as a driver you are integral and necessary to tame and control the car. The car should also reward great driving, but be free of any vices.

2. It should not cost a fortune to maintain. Even Larry Ellison grew tired of the maintenance bills on his McLaren F1. Everything should be accessible and easy to fix.

3. It should be beautiful, but form must follow function. Countach rear wings, fart cans, fake scoops, and fuzzy dice do not qualify.

4. Exhaust note should make your spine tingle. I hate fart cans.

5. Should put a smile on your face as well as your best friends face.

6. Should be comfortable for long distances.

I guess if my list would have been written 150 years ago I would be describing a thoroughbred stallion, or a raging bull...

Since I was in high school the car that best fit this bill was a Cobra...and for me it still does. However, I think I also want something more exotic...something different...

Raging bull... hmmm...sounds like a Muira to me.

I would love to see a Mangusta though.

Or even a Ghibli

Me too, and I'm sure that the Kirkhams could do a better job. I love Italian cars, but they have...well...issues.

Sheesh, even Apple's newest "cloaked in secrecy" products get disseminated somehow to the public. Do the Kirkhams do a better job at protecting their secrets than Apple?

Oh $hit, Tom has everyone on the edge of their seats, at least mine. Something "exotic", "more different". Sounds foreign to me...

If it were to stay in the same vein of super cool and historically significant sports/racing cars I think a Lola T70 would be incredible and reasonably affordable like their current offerings. Small/Big block Chevys! You don't get much more plentiful or affordable that than.

Now if there was a departure from the current product I think that 41 Willeys would be another steller idea. Engine options would be open to owners preference and nearly limitless. (Hemi/SOHC/BBC/nailhead/409/etc.etc.etc) I thought I remember it fitting on their Cobra chassis too??? How convenient!

Whatever it is, we all know it will be of impeccable quality and style.

How about an Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato, arguably one of the best looking cars ever made?

or a Mercedes 300SLR, probably one of the most valuable?

I'm thinking it might be the electric car found in the Billet Book.

Since I can't put myself into Tom's head and since we agree that a Cobra is #1, and since he has ruled out a Daytona and other CS products, I will go with my personal #2 (#1 vintage exotic), although I don't know how the Kirkham's would connect the dots (or what engine they would put in it):

Lamborhini Miura
