Maybe it's not a replica of any existing design. Might be a brand new, Kirkham designed roadster with classic proportions, state of the art suspension and decent weatherproofing - windows, soft top and the option of an alloy hard top, removable of course...

And then again, it might be an XK-E. They already have the front ends...

for all the deuce lovers out there, there are currently many options. But they all need a stainless steel frame and maybe some stainless steel floor panels and aluminum body for the costs they're charging. For the time and money invested in some of the 32's I've seen, it's a crying shame they're probably going to rust out faster than the originals.

maybe something electric in a lightweight aluminum structure.

whatever it is, it needs to be able to be easily licensed and registered. that problem is just getting worse all across the country and around the world.

Good point. I just had ugly flashbacks of the Countach with those ramming guards for bumpers that were installed on all U.S. deliveries.

Since I was in high school the car that best fit this bill was a Cobra...and for me it still does. However, I think I also want something more exotic...something different...

I'm not so sure about that. Steel is highly prized, but there were never any aluminum cars and I don't think there is that much of a market for one. If they sold more than a couple a year, I'd be surprised. Check out Brookville and what they cost as well as how many have sold. The same with the now defunct Dearborn Deuce project. They sold for about 20K for just the body( of course that included windshield, power windows and full top), they have been dead for at least 3 years and there are rod shops that have dozens of them awaiting buyers and there were only a couple hundred( maybe) made.
While I agree that an aluminum deuce would be coool, I doubt that most rodders care.

That body on a Kirkham foundation has a lot of potential. I don't think it's that recognizable to most folks though. I'd like to see someone, I suggested it when the "What should the next car RCR builds" thread was on GT40s, make a replica of the original Mustang( midengine 2 seater). It should be easy to power with any number of front wheel powertrains. I know it wouldn't be longitudinal like the original, but it would definitely have more HP.

Sheesh, even Apple's newest "cloaked in secrecy" products get disseminated somehow to the public. Do the Kirkhams do a better job at protecting their secrets than Apple?
