Bellhousing surgery-removed 3/4" from the top as specified by the Kirkhams

Success



Then i needed to drill a hole for the clutch fork pivot ball. I had to bolt the bellhousing to the transmission and simply eyeball the best spot.
Result






Upper and Intermediate steering installed



Another 12 or so more hours of work and the engine will be ready to go in.

FYI, I "think" I saw that someone posted earlier that the 90 Degree ends on the brake reservoir lines should all be on the master cylinder end to keep them away from the headers.


Car is looking great... I'll have to look you up next time I visit my parents in Birmingham. I would love to see it in person.

You are correct, but i have on a 4 post lift and cannot remove the tires. That, plus i will need the brakes to get it off of the lift. I will reverse once i get the car back up on jack stands again. Thanks though. Feel free to contact me if you are ever headed this way.

Good to see you elected to carry on with this great project. The finished product will be fantastic, keep up the good work.

I am hoping it is just the angle of the photo, but it would appear in the photo of the slave cylinder that you have a sever mis alignment of the push rod, which if true can cause ongoing problems.

Just trying to help

It is curved in towards the arm a bit. That was the best i could do. If i had set the arm out any further, it would have been too far off the throwout bearing. I will call the Kirkhams and see what they think.


You know how they say it is the little things that add up and are the costs that you forget to include in the budget??? I just placed a 700.00 order for fuel lines, fittings, and filters. OUCH!

Fuel pump and pre filter installed.



Any suggestions on which side of the frame rail i should run the fuel lines on. Obviously i do not want to run the fuel line next to the battery cable, but i could still run it on the inside of the passenger rail. Im getting a little confused on where to cross the line over if i want to run them on the drivers side 4" tube. I dont really want the lines just hanging down at the bottom of the frame rail, not that i would every plan on it bottoming out there. If it did, i would probably have much larger problems.

Shot Forward



Oil lines finished. I am not running a oil cooler. I just really dont see it being necessary for the street. If you are running braided stainless lines spend the 20 bucks on the snips from summit. I used to cut them with a die grinder, but it made a mess and the smell of the burning rubber hose was terrible, even with a nice mask on. Not to mention, it takes a lot longer and you must use tape. With the snips, i simply cut, slather the line and fitting with oil, slide the fitting in place and screw the other half in place



This is a bit of an ugly picture. I was seeing if the Shelby shifter i had left over from a mustang build was going to work and surprisingly, it appears it is going to be in just about the right spot.






Ok, i am going back to the garage to measure the run out on the bellhousing.

Im in a holding pattern with the engine and transmission now until the offset dowels arrive.
