		David - great timing for the video.  Something got dropped on the top of my 
left front fender on #142 and put a small dent in it.  I started work on it with a 
hard rubber mallet with a smooth 2x4 backer and got most of it out and stopped for the time being not wanting to stretch the arruminum.  Then I saw you start with a BIG hammer.  That was a confidence builder!  Next visit to 
Texas I'll go for it - just a small dolly and hammer for this.  Thanks for sharing 
the process - I hope I never get something that bad but you sure brought it back to like new.  Reminds me of the time Sandwich fixed a smaller one for a guy at a car show who had nudged his garage door frame I think.

 Sorry for the delay in answering.  Politics   
When you cut out a fender, you have a LONG weld that has to be planished out and straightened.  By the time you figured out the area of the weld vs. the area of the dent it would have been the same.  It is actually easier to simply fix what is there.  We only cut out a panel when it is severely dented or missing (like scraped down a wall    )
 
Over the years we have made tools for just about everything.  The office chair made a lot of people laugh, but it really works well to lean back on and do the panel work.  I use it all the time (I just "borrow" it from Thomas    )

Back in 2002, at the initial KISS get together, Tyson intentionally took a hammer to a fresh body from Europe...we came out of our seats damn near crying. Then we watched the magic memory metal come back before our eyes.

That was a fun time back at the original KISS convention (for those of you who don't know, that is what we called the first Kirkham Open House).  I just had this crazy idea to dent a car in front of everyone and fix it.  I can still hear you guys groaning on that first hit.

		Yep, He and Dave took a nice sized dent out of my left rear quarter. They had their tools overnighted to Reno, and pretty much finished taking the dent out before I'd gotten my rear out of bed. When they were done, it looked better than the rest of the car!!
