Kirkham pedal box measurement

Hi,

Would someone provide some measurements of the pedal box.

I would like to install this pedal box in my replica (FFR) and am just looking for the measurement of the depth at the front and back of the box. I realize there is an incline from back to front and am unsure of the amount of work required to make it fit or if it is even possible.

I just would like to know to judge the amount of fabrication required to install a pedal box like this.

Thanks in advance.

cheers.
Achi

It might be possible to install the original style pedal box in the FFR footbox, but it won't be easy. Considering the pedal box is usually mounted with the bottom pretty close to flush with the bottom of the frame rails and the masters are mounted on the front of the box, you can see it would be a handful of fabrication.
There are a couple options you can consider. You could mount original style footboxes and then you could easily mount the pedal boxes. However, I'm not sure how much work it would be to fit the original style foot boxes in the FFR Chassis.

The other option would be to use the floor mount pedals that bolt directly to the floor of the foot box. I'll try to find a link or picture of one of these. Kirkham uses them on their drop box foot box option and they work really well.

Wilwood’s new floor mount pedal assembly has a brake / clutch / throttle triple pedal design. There are three individual fabricated steel pedals with non-slip pedal pads to control brake, clutch and throttle. Pedal assembly part number 340-12411 is for front engine cars and includes a throttle bell crank and linkage assembly. This unit features an aluminum frame with strong lightweight fabricated steel pedal arms. The frame and the pedal arms have a black e-coat finish for protection and an attractive appearance. Also included with the pedal assembly are mounting studs, clevises, and balance bar assembly that is designed to provide smooth and accurate settings of the brake pedal bias. The balance bar can be set and locked down with the jam nut, or attached to a remote cable for quick on-track adjustments. The pedal assembly provides a 5.25 to 1 nominal ratio.

In case you did not check out this thread yet, Mr Bruce is putting the Kirkham pedals, Kirkham steering column and Kirkham dash into this special that is starting with a FFR chassis. So Mr Bruce probably has answers that would help you.

Thanks for the replies. Actually Mr Bruce was my second call as he is doing a couple of cars with this type of pedal box (he is extremely busy). Two people contacted and not much info in return.
Just wanted measurements. Emailing currently with someone who has provided information and will continue conversation with him this week.

Thanks everyone.

The pedal box is pretty easy to make to a different size and shape I have done that for a couple of different models. If your floor sits on top of the 4" frame rails it can be accommodated by that. Shelby box is 3-1/2" to 5-1/2" high back to front and 6" wide.
The more time consuming parts are all the clevises, rods, pedals and internals.
