Keep it up Bernie, and maybe you'll have the first 100,000-mile Kirkham. |

 | Mine works fine, although I don't make great demands of it. It sounds like something is amiss with yours. Could one of the parts be broken and releasing the tension in the cables as it flexes?
Well done on the road trips, they sound great. I for one would like to read more about them and see some pictures.

 Bernie,
I hope ya have the MP3 player on with the Sunny Cowgirls going while your cruisin' along. The cobra gives more memories per mile than any other car.

 BTSNAKE
 Hersh,

Yes I am using the iPod. Not sure what the music mix is. It is a mix of rock and roll, Country and Rockabilly.

The iPod has duel head phone ear bud input so my passenger can rock on also!!

 750hp
 Craig

The majority of kilometres/miles have been on the Billboards. There is no sign of wear - I have not been spinning the wheels that much.

 Fatboy,
 Paul,

Yes I think it us faulty as it tensions up and pulls up tight on the ratchet. After a while the lever just pulls straight up with no tension.

I have sent an email to Kirkhams for their thoughts...;confused:

I know it may sound silly, but I'm always hesitant to really hammer my car in low gear. With a 600 horse all aluminum motor, I keep thinking the half shafts or some other component will break. I don't mean dumping the clutch, just hard runs at low speeds. |

Yeah, you're right,.........it does sound silly.
I'm sorry, I'd had a skin full of red wine when I posted the above.
I think due caution is the best bet with most of these cars. They don't forgive very much if you get it wrong. Last edited by FatBoy; 12-21-2013 at 09:55 AM..

I find The Great Ocean Road is ideal 2nd and 3rd gear hammering..

Fatboy, I liked your original answer while intoxicated. I chuckled when I saw it as it came in on my phone……… |
