Default Quirky Fuel Gauge

Hi,

I have the Kirkham digital gauges in my car and I have a strange problem with the LCD fuel level gauge in the speedo. Whenever I turn the lights on, the fuel gauge drops to zero and recovers only when the lights are turned off again. The level actually drops, it isn't that it just disappears i.e. you can see the level actually drop to empty.

All the wires and connections look good and I have the solid-state sender in the tank.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Paul

Default Kirkham gauge

I had a similar problem and had to send the gauge back to Speedhut. They repaired it free of charge.

Thanks for the very prompt response.

I have emailed them.

Thanks again.

You have a fuel gauge? I need to install one on my 42 gallon tank. I don't like not knowing when I'm empty.

Yes. It is a small LCD bar scale in the speedo face connected to a solid state sender in the tank.

I believe that my car has the 42 gallon tank, so I understand I need to order a sender.

That's not your fuel gauge that's your light gauge.
