Default New Stripes

Each time I go to the Le Mans Classic, which comes around every two years, I have a different "paint" scheme on the Cobra. Two years ago I recreated the nose art from "Fannin' Fanny", a WWII Lancaster bomber from 427 squadron of the RCAF. She was very popular.

This year I decided on something a little more conventional, but looks pretty good all the same. I also added a matt black covering to the top of the body behind the windscreen to prevent, or at least reduce reflections in the glass.

The matt black add on makes a lot of sense. Does it do the job? Always wondered how infuriating that reflection is. Nice car,
Ross

Hi Ross,

Yes it does work and it looks pretty cool too.

We met at Donington earlier in the summer and you mistook my daughter Charlotte for my wife. I was flattered that you thought I could attract the attentions of a beautiful young lady, but I suspect she was less so.

Beautiful! I assume the stripes are vinyl? Are you using any underhood insulation? Any problem with heat on the hood distorting the stripes? If you don't mind my asking - how much would the stripes cost?

No, there's no insulation under the hood and the stripes have shown no signs of distorting. You need to use a good quality cast vinyl film because the cheaper stuff will shrink due to the heat and leave a sticky border that picks up all the dirt.
I put the stripes on myself, which made it cheaper, but these were only a couple of hundred dollars (or the GB£ equivalent).
