Not really a Kirkham. It is a back door missing a lot of parts and no vin#. Good for a race car

2 questions...How does the chassis not have a KMP number stamped on it?

 (pardon my ignorance)
 What does "Model: G80" mean?

As stated above. Guys that either do or did work for Kirkham are making cars and selling them outside David Kirkham. If you want a Kirkham it is best to deal with David directly.

The ebay seller just responded no VIN or MSO it is built to be a race car.
It would likely be a crap shoot to title.

It could have been made somewhere between Miliec and Sweden or north of Tomsk..There are other people who can make aluminium bodies. It looks hand rolled, not stamped like Kirkham does.

And the frame is not such a big issue. Especially if it's dark for 9 months, like north of the polar circle ;-)

Why they name it Kirkham is another question.

If you add all the odds and ends, like correect tail lights, exhaust, steering wheel cover cap, ... - it's not such a bargain anymore.

Missing VIN aside, but if you aim to register it: Would a Kirkham VIN be any better than no VIN?

I like that is has the tubular suspension.

That aside, there are complete aluminium cars offered in UK, with a 390/427 FE. For a good price!

 | No, they're not all done with an English wheel, but Kirkham bodies are hand made, not stamped. If they were stamped there would be no reason to have them made in Poland by former MiG workers / craftsmen.

Wow. I feel tired just watching that. You can really justify the cost after that amount of work. Really amazing stuff. I would never have the patience for that.

Thanks for the book link. I was told some parts are stamped. But anyway, there are quite a few people this side who can roll aluminium. I have seen Kirkham "Replicas" advertised before in Germany.
Apparently by people in the vicinity of the Kirkham location.

I just had another car done from aluminium in South Africa. However, another make.
I watched occasionally and the speed can be quite astonishing when skilled hands roll it.

The panels are stamped. I own a Kirkham they are not rolled. They are stretched over forms and then finished. The cars are beuatiful in everyway but not rolled. |
