Brake light activation switch

I just acquired a new (used) Kirkham and the brake lights work, but you need to mash the pedal down very hard to activate the lights. Is the activation switch in the box under the footwell? Does anyone know if the switch is adjustable?

Often it is activated by a pressure switch in the brake system, so that when you activate the pedal, pedal pressure turns on your lights. Look for something in line in the brake system near your master cylinder.

Paul, I see some sensors coming off the master cylinder. I will explore this more. The Austin Cobra club is meeting tomorrow, so I'll pose the question to folks at the get together.
