Kirkham Questions

I have been looking into purchasing a cobra. I was looking around on the kirkham website, There are a lot of questions that I have for you guys. I would go with a kit instead of a rolling chassis, and I already know that the frame and body come assembled and nothing else is included.

What rear ends will work with your car? and do they bolt on or is welding required?

what suspension components will work (shocks, uprights, a-arms, and all other front end components?

If I decide to purchase your cobra do instructions come with the car, giving the builder directions on what to do?

This would be my first cobra project so I would like some info as to what works with your car and what does not. maybe you could give some examples and have other cobra owners contact me with ideas.

The Kirkham was brought to the market as a near clone (with significant improvements) of the original car. While you could source suspension hard parts from other companies, there is really no guarantee that they would fit properly.

Given the investment you will have in one of these masterpieces, I would recommend that you order your Kirkham in a stage that would include the suspension, brakes and third member. From a price standpoint, you will come out better than if you piece it out, and you know that the fit and quality is second to none.

Other less critical pieces, such as interior, lights, etc. are easy to source and can be obtained as your budget permits.

My advice is to talk to the Kirkhams directly. They are great people, and will be happy to spend time with you to discuss your project.

Outstanding advice so far. I also highly recommend calling David or Thomas Kirkham to discuss all available options and configurations. You must also visit their place in Provo, UT. I visited Cobra manufacturers for nearly 10 years before I was in a position to finally make my dreams a reality. I am extremely pleased with my car and the Kirkhams. I purchased the most complete roller available due to limited build time available. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. All components are top of the line.
