Yea, frame ain't as good, "doesn't have as much steel in it". "I'd be scared the body would crack, from frame twist"( K car has 5 crossmembers, F5 has 2). F5 is 1/2 the cost for the kit, yep but you don't get EVERYTHING, BRAND NEW, NO DONOR! Let the bashing begin.

Trevor - we don't really lack for good Cobras in the UK. If you think long and hard about it, the Crendon is already so similar to a 'glass Kirkham that the difference is not worth shouting about.
Taking the usual $1 = £1 conversion for all things automotive once imported and tax paid, and accepting the fact that only the first 10 Kirkhams in a box will be sold at the current price, I don't see this offering, even if it became available in RHD, upsetting the UK market in quite the same way that it has the potential to do in the US.
Of course, no 289 option from Crendon, so I guess your Caterham 7 is safe for a while yet................
Shame we did not get to meet up at Stoneleigh.

Hi Wilf
Sorry about Stoneleigh - a last minute decision as the sun was shining...... next time!
As you say, we do have some well built 'rep-leekas' over here. Not really had a very close look at the Crendon as yet. I was just dreaming that the Kirkhams would take pity on us over-taxed cousins (who are divided by a common language) and just maybe slip a few cars over on the quiet............still, it would take a very good deal for me to forsake the worlds best drivers car. Whoops sorry, wrong forum. I'm off....
Happy days (and lets hope for some sunshine)
Trevor

Actually, THIS ONE is far more fun and informative for all parties involved. Starts off a little heavy, but gets better towards the end of the current thread.

Wilf, Trevor,
Maybe we can work a deal and keep Gerry happy at the same time. No promises, but if you are interested I will talk to Gerry.
Rick,
I am confident you will be happy with the car if you purchase it. For that matter, I am confident anyone who buys it will be happy.
XL,
You will be happy,
DD,
When is Carlisle?
MOH,
Aluminum in a box...not yet. It will be a long time before we decide if we are even interested in that. We are simply too busy to even think about it right now.

david,
I wrote technical literature (this time w/o spelling error) for ten years and worked on Cobras since 1987 in Germany.
I currently build a replica in Cape Town based on Cobra Restorer's drawings. Your price is a bargain!
How much would shipping be from Poland to Cape Town, South-Africa?
what gel-coat color can you offer?
I prefer white or black - and 427 mounts for 4-speed toploader.
and yes: LHD.
please e-mail me for payment conditions.
dominik, cape town
