Default Engine and Transmission Mounts for FIA 289

I have a Kirkham FIA 289 that I am installing a 65 289 engine and a 65 Ford Toploader into. What type of enine mounts and transmission mount are need? It was mentioned to me that I need to use Ford HiPo mounts, but does anyone have the Ford Part #s?

Or does anyone have any different suggestions on what mounts I should use? If so, can you tell me where I can purchase them? Thanks

If you have the original style mounts you need to find 63 1/2 to 64 Fairlane engine mounts to fit your 65 engine. You will have to find these in a junkyard or ebay. I know of no one reproducing them. The trans mount is a standard early 60's Ford trans mount rubber cushion with the metal strap that clamps the whole assembly together. Another early 60's Ford part. I got my cushion from one of the Fairlane parts supply houses.

I heard rumors that Tom and Dave have put different style mounts in some of the 289 cars. My car is very early and you didn't state your chassis number. Tom and Dave can tell you what you need.

Good luck

My car is the KMPS 0033, and there is obviously no mounts in the car. I talked with Tom and he was the one that suggested the Ford HiPo mounts, but did not say what Ford part # or what type of car. I did not know what type of car Ford made that would have the right mounts for my Kirkham. I check on Mustangs, and they were not the right one. I will try for the Fairlane mounts to see if they will work. Too bad, nobody makes a remanufatured set. Thanks for the info. If you here any new information on mounts let me know. Thanks
