Default Original Style Brake and Clutch Assemblies

I have the new billet aluminum brake and clutch pedal on my Kirkham leafspring 289fia. Being somewhat of an originality freak, I am hoping to swap out the billet aluminum pedals for the orginal style pedal assemblies with steel arms and "AC" aluminum pedal pads.

Does anyone have any thoughts who may sell them. I have tried many if the Cobra parts suppliers, but have had no luck locating the steel arms.

Does anyone have any idea where I could look for the pedal arms?

Help!!!!

Thanks,

Mike

CSX 700?. Unfortunately, they don't make the old style assemblies anymore. For the most part, everyone wants the billet assemblies except for the few originality freaks like me.

BTW - your car looks really good in the recent pics. The aux. gas tank looks really sweet. Are you going to paint your car? If so, what color?

Thanks,

Mike

mike
just finishing up the long range tanks (mounting brackets, hold down rods, etc...). the car will be painted but at this time i'm not sure what color. i've been in the process of trial fitting everything in preperation for final assembly. you should post some photos of your car, your lucky to have started off with a kirkham car the quality is exceptional!!

p.s. i may know of someone that reproduces the correct pedal arms? do your pedal pads pivot? i'll contact the person i know. look in my photo gallery to compare the parts in the photo to the parts you have in your pedal box, i'm not sure how much the kirkhams may have changed them.

CSX 700? - I actually found someone that converted over to the billet brake and clutch pedals and is willing to sell the old stuff complete with "AC" pads, so I should be good to go.

Forgot to mention, I love the pic in your gallery you just posted of the 3 fia cars. Are the other two cars aluminum as well?

Thanks,

Mike

CobraPak,
COBRA351 fabricates the arms in SAE 1010 steel with original bushings. The AC were cast steel ones that are $162.00 each plus shipping from the UK.

I made the same conversion on my Kirkham. Drop the foot box and pay attention to the location of where the balance bar attaches to the brake pedal. I had to drill a new hole and hone the brass bushing. I like the look and placement of the pedals a lot better. Good luck.
