Keith...where ya been?

Rolling Thunder 05-25-2005 12:07 PM

Hey Jamo!

Long time - I know. Real busy working to get the cookie biz where we want it, and not allowing myself much free time for the internet.

Most recently though I have been spending time with a new addition to the family. Tammy and I had a baby girl on Jan 19th.

Reagan Elisabeth Hummel. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will.

Midstates

ItBites,

Thanks for the Midstates suggestion. I am aware of their car and have looked at them to some extent. I know that's a a possible option, just not sure if it's to the level I want. I've herd the rumor which says they took their body mold from a Contemporary and it does look pretty good. Where I'm not sure is the frame and suspension. At least I've got time to investigate further.

What KCar fiberglass experiment are you referring to? I didn't know they had tried it or even previously looked into it.

Keith

Howdy Ron!

Sure is good to be back. Now I can get crap from everyone I've missed. :) At least it's good crap. As there is no better crap than crap from a Gashole. Who's up next - Turk? Pat? Bueller?

I see your signature line says the KMP is in the garage. What's the ETA on the engine install?

Jamo 05-25-2005 12:17 PM

I still have the little lamb in my office.:p

Rolling Thunder 05-25-2005 12:19 PM

Does it need a tummy refill? We're soon to introduce a line of brownies to complement the cookies.

Jamo 05-25-2005 12:22 PM

Hmmm....I/It can always use a belly refill.:3DSMILE:

Jamo - I think we can accomodate you. Your address hasn't changed has it?

Ron - I'd love to see pics

So what do the two of you think of my fiberglass Kirkham idea?

ItBites 05-25-2005 01:22 PM

RT,

You're right, the Midstates is not a Kcar. Many dineros difference...

Ask the Kbros about the fiberglass experiment. However, as I recall, they could not keep the 'glass dimensionally stable to their standards over time. Obviously, they could work through that with the right partnerships, but as far as I know, they just decided to get back to what they do so well... I think they took the 'glass cars back and offered lup'num cars to the folks who bit on the 'glass experiment cars.

Thanks Keith!:3DSMILE:

Same place.

Keith,
They tried that idea last year and decided to cancel it. The good side of the story is that the few of us that sent them deposits for the glass Kirkham before we knew exactly what was included were given an upgrade to Aluminum.

Keith,
Where have you BEEN?

I am afraid you will have to settle for an aluminum car. (which by the way is cheaper to produce than a fiberglass one, so I have been told).

Besides you can't build a fiberglass Cobra that will hold up in the sun and not sag and not deform.

Hi Keith!

Rolling Thunder 05-25-2005 03:46 PM

I MISSED OUT ON A $25k KIRKHAM?! Holy crap! Have I really been away for that long?

So, David, is it to late to still be included in the trial? :3DSMILE:

Jamo 05-25-2005 06:00 PM

Keith...psssssttttt....they like cookies.

Power Surge 05-26-2005 11:18 AM

I saw the glass car on the Friday before the summit. It wasn't a pretty sight. I don't blame them for hiding it for Saturday. If David doesn't feel confident enough to make a glass car, then he made the right choice by not pursuing the idea. The Kirkhams are obviously better suited to stick with metal cars, and personally I'd prefer it that way from a value standpoint.

BTW Ron, if you need any help when you are ready to do your motor, I am more than willing to come help you out. Heck, you can even do it here at my shop if you feel like bringing the car and motor here.
