Default Are vents worth $1000?

The driver's is 500 and the passenegr the same. Are they needed. Who has them and who doesn't. Can they be added later?

It does seem a little pricey, but very much worth it. I got the drivers side one only. I don't think they do much but general thinking is that the competition 427's had it that way. The Kirkhams prices seem high until you get the stuff after you see the quality and understand that you typically get more and the complete unit. You will be pleased with the value-I have been. Lots of times in this Cobra World you will buy the part then find how much more you still need to get or fabricate-Kirkhams typically give you the complete deal. Good luck with you journey.

I had a drivers side vent with blower on my Hi Tech. Useless in AZ.

My ERA has vents and I don't think they really do much. If I pull them on and off on a hot day I can't feel any difference. On a cold day, I can tell but only because it's freezing with them on and only slightly more comfortable with them off. I wouldn't pay $1k for them.

I'm curious why owners say that the footbox vents don't work? I'm researching a vent system from CobraEarl's FFR Accessories that has 12v fans in it now in hopes I can stop the roast. My footbox fronts are covered with ThermoCool foil insulation, my headers are ceramic coated, my footboxes are insulated on the inside; I'm still roasting.

What method gets the most cooling effect? Should I wrap the headers? How about the space between the inner fender and the body? Should that be sealed off? I assume that the hose in the CobraEarl's kit ($180) will have to be insulated to prevent heating air from the front vents as it passes through the engine compartment so, will that help the kit work? Anybody tried that kit?

Burning up in New Mexico, top and bottom.

you will have to insulate the hose. I have them on KMP266 and they help but 1K is pricey. I would add an inline fan

Maybe it's my imagination, but with both vents open, I smell less fumes from the side pipes.

I have them on KMP401. Yes they are worth it unless you want to melt your shoes. Put them in for sure.

I disconnected mine on my ERA. There like a 'blast furnace' of extreme temperature air (that melt your tennis shoes).

I have one on the drivers side. Doesn't do a lot, but does help. And every little bit is needed in the summer.

Passengers haven't complained yet about the lack of one on their side...they're usually too busy with other things to notice, I think.

School me on these blowers. I want to add them to my car. I noticed that I get a heat gun out of the vents until I drive 50 MPH for 5 minutes or more, then they cool down. With blowers, it should be "cool" all the time. . .

Where are they installed? Size? Brand name? Whatever you can tell would be great!

first , you have to insulate the ducting. Mine has cool air at any speed( well at least ambiant temp air) . A blower from Mcmaster Car or one of the boat supply companies is put in line in the ducting. Also look on EBAY, a lot of racing companies sell them for cooling brakes. The advantage of the blower is of course to blow high volume air when going slow, when you need it most.

I looked in Mcmaster, but what am I looking for. What I saw there all looked huge to fit inline. How do you insulate the pipe/hose? I assume just the area above the headers?

Default foot box air

I installed a 140 cfm 12 vdc vent fan with a 3" duct into the dash where it split into two 2" ducts. One for the driver side and one for the passenger side. I did this just before we drove to the LCS. I tried it a couple of time and just got hot air. My foot box does not get that hot but you know how it is. Coach Mike install one in his Cobra so I had to install one in mine. The jury is still out. Mine cost about $120.
As hot as it gets in Alabama I need an aircondition.

North Alabama, is has been 90-95 for weeks.

Marine vent fans.
They have them in 3" and 4". The 4" is to big for what we want.



I've got a pic but can not find the invoice which has the model # and company that I bought it from. I try later.

Can you guys that have them installed take a few pictures of fans mounted in place. Would like to keep the fan (blower) out of the engine bay.
