I bought this car on Friday (5/1)_. Will arrive around thursday. Interested to see what you guys think when i'm through with it. I think I got a great deal on it. Either way, it's getting a black stripe, 15" trigo's with goodyear billboards, wooden steering wheel. I am going to have it lowered as low as possible. Still undecided on the interior. I can either dye it black or remove some of it. Also going to put dual quads on it.
What do you guys think?? would that do the trick and get it to look look like a kirkham again?

+1. Absolutely. Congratulations.
Hey, why strip the paint off and polish it?

Smart buy.
bwnuts,
congratulations. If you got a good deal on it, you could wind up way ahead with some simple changes to put your signature on it. I think what some here are referring to is it's too flashy for a Kirkham, and needs a little "raw recipe" added to it. My trick is sandpaper or machining to most anything that shines.
Just adding 15s with tires to fill the wheel wells a bit, and lowering it it tad is where i'd start on the outside. On the interior, yank the street rod door panels immediately, replace the front seats/recover them in black putting them back to a more orginal shape, and put black lower carpet in it as a start. That might break it up a little. The rest of it will start to fall into place and you'll then know what to replace from there.

I hear that is a growing fad in California

Smart
BW,
Congrats and you are welcome.....(See you with car June 5th San Juan Capo World Class Motoring Grand Opening)
When finished, (as we discussed), this car will be among the best. You have all of the top componets, KCP Shelby 511 + stainless chassis + leather. Some folks don't have vision, a Very wise purchase, can't wait to see the finished car.
The new owner of my polished car went 168 down the back straighaway in Tampa last weekend.............STAY TUNED, for a "Big Bet" match-race in Las Vegas next month.
Buy the way, looked at the RED Kirk e - bay car again with intensions of purchasing,, you are lucky you passed....the car has issues throughout. But a good project to finish @ the right price.

The leather interior on that car in the trunk and drivers area was ALOT of money...I wouldn't rip it out..I would dye it if anything...its full leather...wish I could remember how much but well over $10 grand in cow hide
