It is nice that someone from London won the raffle car. The town has been such a great host to all the Cobra nuts each year.

I agree! That plus the donation of the ploice motorcycle has really made London a sort of celebrity town in central Ohio. Better next year!

I stuck around until Ken got to the tent to claim his prize. He and about a dozen of his friends showed up. We covered the car before he got there and let him uncover. He probably still has an ear to ear grin that will never go away. He and his wife where so extremely excited it is really hard to describe. There where a bunch of cameras flashing so hopefully once every one gets home we can see some pictures!
Once we where able to drag him away from the car, I took him around to the hotels for a proper introduction to the Cobra 'family'. When I finally left him at about 12:30 am the Windy City folks where still giving him a 'proper' welcome Of course, we made sure someone else was going to drive him home...

Windy City welcome
Yeah Rick, you know you gotta break those new members in right.
After all, initiation is a delicate thing and has to be done correctly
By the way, did you tell him about having to wash, clay bar, polish and wax all of our cars next year?
Congats to the Furgusons!

Congratulations to Ken and his wife!!!
I met them as Rick brought them around, and they were very nice young couple that will really enjoy the Cobra.
They must have a great sense of humor to take all the good natured ribbing we gave them so well (maybe the tequila that Jay gave them helped).
Cheers!
Dave

I guess Rich got off easy and did not have to take the car anywhere!
I think we will be able to pick it out of the crowd next year... He has got a whole year to pratice on doing a correct burnout ( but not getting a ticket) for next year's show. Congrats and welcome to one of the the greatest "Families" on the planet!!

Ken Furguson Update???
Rick, just wondering if you've heard anything from Ken since taking possession of that fine raffle car. Has he joined the OCC yet? Or did we scare him so badly during the initiation that he never wants to see us again?
Hope Ken and his wife are enjoying the summer, cruising the beautiful back roads of the mid Ohio countryside.

Sadly, he has only got to see the car and not got it home yet. The nice folks who donated the wheels had them stolen in transport. The wheels on the car when he first saw it where the wheels and tires from one of our club members. Our member gave up his tires and wheels so the raffle car could be there and his car was on jack stands the entire time. A big sacrifice to be sure! Imagine working year round for LCS and not even being able to bring your car! Well, the winners wheels, being hand made to order in England, take a while to get across the pond. Soon, the two will be united and we owe him some more drinks! Pictures to come.
We just had a meeting tonight.... wait until you see next years raffle car! VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
