Default LCS - Mid Ohio Event - "Gear" Needed

To the veterens of the Mid Ohio Event at LCS, what, other than a helmet, do you need/recommend for the two day event. Yeh, obviously I'd be in the novice group.

I believe that Mid-Ohio even has helmets that you can borrow for your time on the track. A helmet is all that is needed. I would suggest long pants and comfortable shoes that fit your footbox. I have run at this school before and can tell you it is very fun and educational. I hope to see you there.

I just registered for this event, and they DO NOT have helmets available. You have to have your own SA 2000 or newer. Driving suits are not required.

Derald,
Thank you for the update on the helmets. I know they have helmets there, they must use them for their own drivers schools. Sorry for the bad info.

StreetSnake,
I plan on being at both events as I am responsible for organizing both events.

No problem Gordon, just wanted to make sure we all are aware of their rules. Also, Gordon, are you going to have the tech at Quality Inn on Monday nite as in previous schools ?
Thanks, Derald.

Derald,
I'm not sure. Tech may be at the track on Tue morning. When I have it figured out I will post with full details.

Default Mid Ohio School

We just posted a PDF file with all the Tech info on your car. It might be worth the time to download it and print it out. That way you will know exactly what the Tech Inspection will be looking at. It is on www.londoncobrashow.com under Mid Ohio Track Event.

I have a spare SA-2000 helmet that I will be bringing with me to the track if anyone needs one.

GREAT !!! After I was told "no loaners", I bought a new helmet. Oh well, it will not go to waste.

Derald, look on the bright side. A helmet that you have taken the time to make sure that it fits you well is far safer than one that "almost" fits you well.

Plus having your own and going to the MOCS will whet your appetite for more track time like Run 'n Gun in October.

See you there.

Dave, don't tempt me. I have wanted to do the run-n-gun for quite some time. Since I do not much resistance for this type of event, now I have even less of an excuse not to go to st louis. The only excuse I have now is risking having my ego bruised and having to drive home with my tail between my legs.

Look at both as great learning experiences while you have a great time. The amount of ontrack time is fabulous at each event, but if you listen and watch, you can learn a LOT more not just from the instructors, but other drivers. If you do well, that is just icing on the cake.

You won't get your ego bruised at either event unless you get to ride along with one of the instructors at MOCS when they go out between sessions to play. Very humbling to say the least (at least it was for me), but a lot of them ARE legends and most, if not all, of us are just legends in our own minds. Then you will realize that it IS the driver, not the car at higher levels.
