I have a buddy with a hardtop on his B&B who lives Birmingham Ala. He drives his Cobra every day that it does not rain. Every day!
He has side curtains but removed them soon after he had the top installed and drives year around without them. He uses his wind wings and heater.

I see that you live in the great state of Texas. You could wait and drive your Cobra with the top and see if you need the curtains.
Mike logs about 6,000 to 8,000 miles a year on his Cobra. He email me last winter and told me the top was rock solid at 142 mph. Something about a BMW trying to pass him on the interstate. His speedo is 1 mph off at 80. I checked it with a GPS. So the 142 should be close.

I built an LS427 with a hard top and A/C. The side windows I made do not require holes in the body, they mount and swing out from the windshield side posts.
