Default Ceramic coating for sidepipes on or close to Long Island?

Is there anyone on or near Long Island who will do ceramic coating for headers and sidepipes? If so where are they, did they do a good job, and what did they charge? Thanks!

Congrats, BTW on the new toy! I'd love to see it.

There's a place at the south end of 106 or 107 but I can't recall if they did ceramic. I know we had some wheels powder coated there last year and at the time, I saw some headers on the shelf. I'll dig up the name.

Cheers

HI, Ray! Thanks - you're welcome to stop by anytime. You still have my number? The car isn't much to look at yet, but if all goes well it'll be real nice. I just pulld the engine and godawful auto transmission today. I threw that darn thing right in the trash - it felt good to do it, too! Give me a call if you want to stop by one day.

Doug

Doug, what are you plans for the engine, complete re-build or something new altogether?

Right now it's got a 351C in it. I don't know what's inside yet, as the guy I bought it from knew ZERO about the car - he didn't even know if it was a Cleveland ior a Windsor. I pulled the engine out today, and I have to go away tomorrow on a 4 day long trip. When I get back I'll tear into the engine. I'm going to pull the oilpan, intake, timing cover and heads, and start poking around. The engine seems real tight, all cylinders were within 5 psi of each other when I did the compression test. I think it's a fairly stock 351C. I'll probably just slide a cam lifters and springs into it for now, put a new Holley on it, and drive it like that for a year or so while I gradually bring the car up to where I want it to be. Once I get the car up to standards, then I'll look into dropping an FE into it. We'll see.

To my knowledge there are not any ceramic coaters on LI. You will have to ship them out. I'd recommened Jet-Hot, especially for silver color.
The next closest place is in New Haven Ct. There was "Airborne Coaters" but have changed their name. Here's the old tel # 860-528-8281. Perhaps one of the other guys can assist with update on Airborne info.

Airborne now goes by the name Central CT Coatings Inc. 52 Village Street
East Hartford, CT 06108 Phone: 860-528-8281 (same # - JAM1775)
GSchaeffer@centralctcoatings.com
I used them, they did a nice job, nice people, easy to deal with. I took the ride up and back rather than shipping - if you do ship pack the pipes so they can't move in the crate. The exhaust end gets bent very easily so brace the pipes and protect them. Also clean off any weld flashing before you have them coated, as a rule the coater wont grind the welds or hunt for flash that your responsibility.

Thanks Nick. Had a brain fart there with the New Haven recall.
I can tell you I made a couple of "pipe trips" to Airborne some years ago .
It's about 2 hrs each way and pretty much all highway.

Any rough idea of the cost to ceramic coat hesders and sidepipes? Just a neighborhood number - silver (chrome look) coating if it matters.
