Default Lebanon Dragway - Ford Day

June 30th, Saturday is Ford Day at Lebanon Dragway. I spoke with the race track manager who said the track is open only to Ford street cars, actively registered. The track manager anticipates a lighter than normal amount of cars racing, not typical for a weekend Saturday. He invited our LI Cobras to attend. I already had plans to go upstate about mid-week with my car. Therefore,
I will head to Lebanon Dragway with trailer Saturday morning 7:30-8am.
I can put up guys at my place if you're interested in running your car.
Drive to Lebanon from my place is an hour or less at trailer speeds.
Figure 3-3.5 hrs from Long Island.
Gates open at 8am, racing begins at 10am. Entry fee is $30 .

For specific info about tech inspection etc please e-mail me directly ?

No, but maybe Gapp and Roush will show up, maybe "Dyno Don" Nicholson too!
I think we're dating ourselves, Tony - those were sure the good old days, though, weren't they?

Doug...that's funny...the old rivalries were classic..no doubt, but here in this day and age we have a new rivalry..... with Compy the "garden snake" Cobra vs Doc Vito's "mongoose without a tail" Z06....

last year the snake held is own against the mongoose at Lebanon Valley...this year with no bowties at ford day the anticipation will have to wait... besides with both sides uping the anti for bragging rights with mega power adders for both...

the question is will Compy let Kate drive with a greater power to weight ratio and will Doc Vito let Phil (I like that car, I think I'll buy it) Rhini drive his vett because he's not afraid to go over 125...these questions will be answered someday...but not at Lebanon Valley on Ford day

OH I could really get to dislike you Jam. I am going to have to move heaven and earth but I want to go. I'll let you know, first I'll try bribery, then pouting. Whatever works!

If you do see Dyno Don Nicholson at the track, please check you blood alcohol and/or your glasses. Dyno missed the biggest shift in his life last January and passed on to the big 1/4 mile in the sky. RIP.

So "Dyno Don" sleeps with the fishes, eh? See what happens when you don't check in with someone for 30+ years? In the mean time while my vision remains at a very nice 20/15, I have to work on that blood alcohol level thing. I don't fly again until Monday - now where the hell's my beer!

The Mongoose is ALIVE and well--but unfortunatley patient lives come first that day(on call) and the classic match up(tyrronosaurus rex vs. triceratops) (David vs. Goliath) will have to wait.

Hah !! Nope. Last time I looked in the mirror I concluded I should remain the asshole that I am and pray my wife never gets lasic surgery because she'd run for the door at full gallop !!

Friday morning sounds terrific. This way we can have a relaxing trip and easily make it for Saturday. We can roll around 9:30/10/11 ..whatever is best for you. Hey....all we wanna do is have some fun !

After this I swear I'm never racing again. Nope. You could not force me with an arm lock. Nope. Promise me new hair in back of my head ? Nope.
Not even on an open highway early Saturday morning. Nope.
From now on my goal is the best MPG. Last week I clocked it at 12MPG in OD. Can't beat that right ? Nope. Made me very happy.
Racing out. Quiet moonlight cruises are IN. 8th season..it's a new dawn.
In fact I should slap myself hard before I ever press the pedal hard again.
Doesn't HRE still put governors on for new Cobra owners ?
I'll may even order one of those.
No more. Then the drinking comes next. No more beer. Just now...the thought of a bottle of Jamesons is already making me upset. Nope.
I swear.

Jim, did the manager mention anything about pre-registering...we wouldn't be happy if we can't run after making trhe trip.
