Whoops, just heard from Oklahoma that they want to go back to being part of Texas.
That may be true, but that Alaska pipeline goes through USofC territory - you're gonna get taxed!

And you forget that Jesuslanders can't get along with Muslims, and that Canada has a pretty significant oil reserve.

Not that I'm gloating - I'm going to be stuck in Vermont with a bunch of farmers and hippies trying to keep Jamo and other tourists out.

Now that I think about it, Vermont might have to annex the secessionist part of Quebec and rename itself Vermontreal.

You citizens need to come up with some proper names for these new countries. For a reasonable consultancy fee payable immediately, I have taken the liberty of presenting a couple of submissions.

Capitalist Republic of Acquisitive Patriots

Liberal Integration of Marxist Proletarians

Vrm,

Bite us. Oil just went to $1,500 a barrel. We're shipping via tanker until we build the new pipeline. Oh, and Anwar is just a year away, we don't need no Canuck oil sands. Our biggest problem is all of these illegal Californians. The Texas economy is the 11th largest in the world (pre oil price hike) and we're totally self sufficient.

New ABC/WaPo poll out finds that only 20 percent of Americans claim to be Republicans, a 26-year low. Additionally, while a majority believe the country is on the wrong track, 49 percent trust Obama to make the right decisions for the country, versus 34 percent who trust Congressional Democrats, and a paltry 19 percent who trust the Congressional Republicans. (The 20 percent claim to be GOP number is apparently not in the data to which I linked, but ABC reported it on their evening newscast).

Bernie,
I guess you were not paying attention. Listen to Buzz - I'm a PISSer - you are a CRAPer. I don't have a dog in the fight between you CRAPpers and the LIMP.

What is going to be interesting is watching you flyover types try to sell your oil to a bunch of blue staters that have Canadian oil and Chavez.
And it is going to be fun watching most of your tankers sail from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico via Cape Horn. And where exactly is that new pipeline going to be?

And as for being self sufficient, well, Plano has some talented folks in the technology department, but the bulk of high tech will still be in the blue states. You CRAPpers will be a third world country before too long unless you can convince the LIMPs that corn, cows, and wheat are real food instead of veggie-soy-lattes.

Well I guess you're just in the dark up there in liberal land and haven't heard the good news. We already had most of the Mexicans so Mexico decided to join us. The tankers dock at Tijuana and the pipeline runs to Juarez.

You are obviously a Liberal Democrap and are blinded by and overjoyed by the Repubicianss loss of membership. What is important and consistent is that both parties are losing membership, while Independents are growing.

Copied and pasted from REUTERS, Sep 2009: Congressional Approval rate,

currently just 22% give them positive ratings while
almost four in five Americans (78%) give them negative ones. The rating of
individual parties and leaders in Congress are not any better:
* One in five Americans (21%) give Democrats in Congress positive ratings while
47% give them negative ones and one-third (32%) say they are not familiar enough
to have an opinion;
* Even lower numbers (12%) give Republicans in Congress positive ratings and
over half (52%) give them negative ones while 37% are not familiar with them;
* Looking at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 19% of Americans give her job positive
marks but almost half (48%) give her negative ones and one-third (33%) are not
familiar with her;

Remember, even when Bush was in office, CONGRESS had a lower approval rate than George himself. And now they have gone downhill.

I left the Republican party mare than 30 years ago. BOTH parties STINK!

Oh I totally agree, both parties stink, that said, after George, I would vote for a Muppet before I ever helped put a republican back in office, however, the dems are their own worst enemy, these guys could not all be on the same page to save their lives, but who else is there to vote for? we only have 2 parties that stand a snowballs chance.
The last remnants of the republican party has been taken over by a crazed bunch of tea baggers and religious zealots, and have forced the party to the extreme right, and the extreme right is way more dangerous than the extreme left. I prefer the middle ground, there are a lot of things I like about the old republican party, but they no longer exist, there's also things I like about the left, so I would put myself in that middle of the road category, but there's no one left to vote for on the right anymore, all the moderates are being forced out of the party, and they will go the way of the wigs if they stay on course.

Sorry, but what you have been brainwashed into believing about "tea baggers", is completely false. I have been to Tea Parties and was VERY FORTUNATE to witness American FREE speech in full song. What you call tea baggers are just the American PUBLIC voicing their displeasure with out of touch, out of control politicians of both parties. ATTEND yourself and you will see LOYAL AMERICANS speaking their minds, on their own dime, supported by NO ONE but love of country. NO religious zealots, NO radical right wingers, NO corporate sponsors, just Americans with brains enough to KNOW that that a Government that has to BORROW 43 cents of EVERY Dollar spent is a FAILED Government, and a Government that has an UNFUNDED LIABILITY of $343,000.00 for every man woman and child in the country is an INSANE Government that is also FAILED. Liberals bad mouth them and HATE them because the liberals DO realize that the Tea Parties" DO present a very serious danger to Liberal INSANITY! But the Tea Parties present NO danger to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The Tea Parties ARE the USofA without all the partisan bullsh!t!
Nothing is a greater danger to our country the Utopian liberal warm and fussy nonsense. Liberalism is a laundry list of give away programs that cannot be funded, cannot be supported, and cannot and have not worked.
Liberal programs rely on STEALING from the haves and giving to the have nots. In the last 50 years, we have given TRILLIONS to "the poor." And surprise, the results are MORE OF "the poor!" NOT LESS!

But then, liberals hate history more than anything else!

Tijuana is not a deepwater port. In fact, I don't think Mexico has any deepwater ports on the Pacific side. Clearly you are going to have to hire some of those evil blue-staters to show you how ports work.

Besides, those Mexicans will move to LIMP once they realise that you CRAPpers are not going to support their asses for free. You will also defend your borders (something that will probably not happen in CA), and kick out the illegals. Mexico will not be on your side.

Mexico will probably have a revolution in 5-10 years if things keep going the way they have, and once they do they will end up in the blue-state camp.

Care to try again?

Steve

Don't need any blue staters as our offshore facility allows the tankers to offload to the pipeline that delivers it to shore. Mexico came to our side because we don't patrol the borders at all. We grant them free ingress and egress to your side so they can obtain their medical services for free that you so graciously offer them. And since we no longer offer them free education and all their meals and lodging free they are happy to just pass through on their way to the Holy Land. In addition since most of us conservatives don't use their product, which endangers our population, they were extremely grateful for the technology we provided them to allow them to move their drugs to their main blue state users with stealth technology.

Oh, I forgot to mention we had a huge budget surplus this year. Must have been those $10,000 a head toll booths on the ingress side and no expenses on the egress side.

Sorry - red staters don't have stealth technology - it was developed in CA.
