Default How's everybody handling this storm

I'm from Wisconsin, about 30 miles south of Green Bay. The storm crossing the country just dumped 14 inches of snow and now 40 mph wind with gusts of 55 mph. Its past 11 AM and still haven't seen a snow plow yet. Green grass yesterday now this!!!! Hows everbody else doing out there? Jim

Near record lows here in Oregon. I haven't worn long johns for 20 years, but I own several pair now and wear them 24/7. That's how I'm coping with it!

Oh, and I had to buy an ice scraper after breaking my credit card. Haven't owned an ice scraper in years either.

Well, goodness, you need a BLACK CARD[tm]. Only a $500 annual fee and interest rates that would make Vinnie the loan shark blush, but it's VERY EXCLUSIVE and made of carbon fiber. You'll never break that sucker.

I'd be smug about being 1500 miles from the storm if my wife hadn't been flying in it over the last 24 hours.

It's hitting low 20s here in the Central Valley, something that only happens briefly and a few times a decade. We've had these temps for a week, along with very rare snow. My dogs are completely baffled by their frozen water bowl outside. "But gosh, Dad, it looks just like water! What's the joke?"

We never got any falling weather here but had a low of 18° last night and there is a light but very cold wind blowing this morning. The forecast is for rain Friday and over the weekend but it is never correct, so I will wait and see what we get.

Bob,

When it warms up the snow blower will start ok. It is just cold and wants to stay inside for now.

My son was outside snowblowing because I just had surgery again this year on my left shoulder. Broke a sheer pin on the auger. Of course I don't have any extras. Put a bolt in hoping too finish the driveway. Found out he used gas that had 2 stroke oil mixed in it. Ran for about 20 minutes. Cleaned plug and now running again but for how long? Still no snow plows yet. Its after 1 PM and snowing again. Jim

Bob,

About every 10 to 12 years we have one big snow here and the snow plows never run until everyone had cleared their driveways. I think they are waiting for a place to throw the snow they are pushing.

We`re lucky here as we get snow about every 10 years . However , it was 75 today , then the wind started and we will see a 40 + degree drop tonight . Not what you guys have to put up with , but still a shock for us Southern boys .

That is cold.It is 19° here this morning with a high of 44 forecast. And of course the continual light but cold wind. Now they say rain Friday and all through the weekend. But we were supposed to have rain Monday when this storm passed through California and all we had here was cold and very cold winds with clear and sunny skies.

Bob, you best be quick because that Platte is only deep enough to have anything go swimming for just a few minutes in the spring and the loop ain't much better.

we have the canal that feeds Lake North that feed the power plant THATS deep enough and it's already lined on both sides with old cars anyway..........
my kid tried to get the snow blower started today........no luck.....
you could put the platte and the loop rivers together and there still isn't enough water to wash your shorts in.......
