Thats all we need in todays economy...........dont pay that fine and they will put a lean on your house and attach your wages..........

Ah, well this article is not entirely true. My son-in-law is a lawyer in Indy and I happen to know Judge Young myself. There is an up-charge for challenging a ticket and losing, but not as much as quoted in the article. It is set to cover the additional court costs. They charge it because the city refuses to fund the court system and Judge Young is trying to clear out the backlog of cases. Think of it as a "pay-as-you go" plan. You use it, you pay for it. I'm not saying I agree with it, but there is some common sense basis behind it.

Now personally, I wouldn't even have a clue about what the upcharge is. I've never had to pay it.

This flys in theface one one of the basic tenents the legal system is founded on.
