Wait until the building burns down to the height of their equipment, and then put it out.

That could be a long hike down the stairs for the occupants in the event of a fire and the elevators are shut down!

Yeah, it would be scary to be in a building that tall if, say, a huge fire broke out somewhere in the middle floors.
