Sorry, and thank you. At that time, I didn't feel like looking up the correct spelling, like I did for 3 of the words in this response.

I have no doubt that accomplishing tort reform would be difficult for all the reasons Excaliber mentioned, in spite of the fact that it would benefit virtually everyone except the trial lawyers and the politicians who are in their pockets. As I understand it, in virtually every other modern country, citizens my sue parties to retrieve actual losses. But they may not recover punitive damages, which is where the big money is for lawyers and litigation minded plaintiffs. In other countries, punitive action is accomplished via criminal courts. Thus a drunk surgeon who operated on a patient would be responsible for the cost of correcting any damage he caused and that's it. If punitive measures were to be taken, they would be taken in criminal court. It seems to me that if care providers who acted improperly risked criminal sanctions rather than rising insurance premiums, they might be more careful.

Well Ernie you just continue to make my point, don't you? A vulgar, crude, know it all. How come you never get put on the sidelines for a few days? How many times do you just "have" to post to a thread?

Bernie, go suck an egg. You STARTED this thread with a bug up your azz and a personal dig at me, let it go, leave me alone, stay on the topic.

How many times do you just HAVE to make it personal?

Its an old saying but still true.

"Inch by inch, every thing's a cinch!"

That the only way health care is going to get any reforms. And even then it will be much less than some want and much more than others want.

Ok, here it is. Bernie asked for "conservatives" to respond, and specifically asked Ernie to stay off the thread.

Ernie, you didn't, and you started calling folks a few names. 3 days off.

Black Mamba...same thing, you didn't belong on this thread. Also, I've decided I just don't like your style of jumping into the frey with assinine remarks for the few weeks you've been here. 3 days off. Come back screaming and I'll gladly throw your ass out of here.

Bernie...it was assinine for you to start such a thread and demand only certain folks respond. Your thread is closed.

Any questions from anyone? I've got an itchy trigger finger, so please...make my day.
